Description
Long-Haul Truck Driver.
Duties
- Operate and drive as solo/team driver; Reefer, Dry Van and/or Flatbed trucks to transport produce, goods and materials to and from MB to all provinces in Canada and in the USA.
- Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods.
- Perform pre-trip, on-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals, brakes, cold storage etc.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
- Obtain special permits and other documents on the US border; required to transport cargo on international routes.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption.
- Administer bills of lading and maintain log books manually or electronically.
- Communicate with the dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices & onboard computers.
Qualifications
Experience an asset
