- Tasks
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS)equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Mountain driving expertise
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
- Load and unload goods
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
