Description

We are seeking a Facility & Building Operations Manager to plan, organize and oversee the operation and maintenance of a large residential complex, called Princeton Towers, consisting of approximately 300 rental apartments in Thompson, Manitoba.

Duties

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee facility and building operations and maintenance
  • Manage and supervise external contractors, service providers and vendors
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance and safety programs
  • Oversee building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety systems
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and building regulations
  • Plan, manage and control operating and maintenance budgets
  • Address operational issues and coordinate emergency responses when required
  • Monitor building performance, operational risks and maintenance priorities
  • Support long-term asset management, lifecycle planning and value preservation
  • Oversee building security and access control systems in coordination with external specialists
  • Lead and coordinate on-site and external operational teams
  • Support initiatives aimed at maintaining high occupancy levels through operational excellence, property presentation, and coordination with leasing or marketing partners

Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent professional experience in building operations, facility management, real estate, housing or a related operational field
  • 5+ years of experience in operational management, facility or building operations, property management or comparable roles, including leadership or supervisory responsibility
  • Experience with contractor coordination, vendor management and budget oversight
  • Knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices
  • Experience working in technology-enabled operational environments, including digital tools, IT-supported operations, data-driven process improvement, and the application of AI or augmented technologies to support operational efficiency and safety
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and take full operational responsibility for a large residential property
