Nomination Process
Manitoba Start invites nominations for the Manitoba Start Employer Awards 2016. Completed nominations can be submitted electronically.
All nominations must be received by April 15, 2016. A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt of submission.

By submitting a nomination for the Manitoba Start Employer Awards 2016, your organization grants to Manitoba Start the rights, title and interest to reproduce the work reference in the nomination for media, print and electronic venues. Manitoba Start will consult with your organization prior to publication.
Selection Process
Nominations will be reviewed by the Selection Committee, which comprises representatives of Manitoba Start and Manitoba businesses. Six award recipients will be selected by the Committee, based on the nominee’s demonstrated commitment to ensuring the success of internationally educated newcomers within their organization. Awards will be presented at the Manitoba Start Employer Awards 2016 Luncheon.
Successful candidates will be notified in advance to allow time to prepare for the event. The awards event will provide an opportunity for recipients to present a short speech, video, etc., regarding their organization’s commitment to diversity. Award recipients will receive two complimentary tickets to the awards luncheon.

Awards will be presented at the Manitoba Start Employer Awards 2016 Luncheon on Thursday, May 12, 2016, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre, Winnipeg. Recipients will receive:

Two awards are offered in each category recognizing a small- and medium-sized business (<500 employees) and a large business (>500 employees).

This award recognizes organizations that are highly engaged in driving change to increase newcomer inclusivity in the workplace and has been a partner of Manitoba Start since 2014.
- MANITOBA START NEW PARTNER OF THE YEAR: (1) Small- and Medium-Sized Business; (2) Large Business
This award recognizes organizations that began partnering with Manitoba Start in 2015 to initiate new solutions to increase newcomer inclusivity in the workplace, yielding positive business results.
- Champion Award: Advancing Internationally Educated Professionals in Manitoba: (1) Small- and Medium-Sized Business; (2) Large Business
The Champion Award recognizes organizations for their distinguished contributions to the advancement of highly skilled newcomers in Manitoba and advocacy for newcomer employment and inclusion. These Business Champions have strategically embedded processes that value the skills that internationally educated newcomers add to their business.
