• Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels to ensure optimal performance
• Load and unload freight using forklifts or heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
• Maintain accurate documentation for each pick up, including pick up logs, inspection reports, and freight manifests
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
• Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime during trips
• Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed for loading or unloading freight

Requirements

• Valid Canadian Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Vslid Canadian Passport
• Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with heavy-duty trucks and freight transportation. At least 2 years experience
• Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
• Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as required
• Strong English skills
• Forklift training and hazmat training provided.
