As a Pharmacy Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of medications, and providing excellent care to our valued customers. Responsibilities:

  • Carefully review prescriptions to confirm completeness and accuracy, ensuring the right medications are provided to patients.
  • Input client and prescription details into the system with precision to ensure proper documentation.
  • Support pharmacists in accurate preparation, packaging, and labeling of medications to meet the needs of patients.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory by regularly checking stock levels, restocking shelves, and organizing products for easy access.
  • Prepare specialized compounded products such as oral solutions, creams, and ointments, ensuring quality and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with processing medical billing and insurance claims, helping to ensure patients have their prescriptions covered.
  • Provide timely assistance to customers, offering answers to questions and helping with product selection.

Qualifications

  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience in a healthcare, retail, or pharmacy setting is an asset, but not necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of work.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations, inventory management, and prescription processing is preferred.
