Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Paint-Sprayer Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces with precision and efficiency. As a Paint-Sprayer Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the aesthetic quality and durability of products through expert spraying techniques. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare steel products for paint application by operating equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, and fill dents, ensuring a smooth and clean surface for coatings.
  • Operate automated spray painting equipment or other mechanized coating application systems to apply protective or decorative coatings to steel workbenches, storage solutions, and other steel products.
  • Use hand-held spray guns to precisely apply paint and coatings to both stationary items and products on moving conveyor systems.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment, ventilation systems, compressed air tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure coating thickness is consistent and meets specified requirements.
  • Clean and degrease metal surfaces to ensure coatings adhere properly, using a variety of techniques.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols during all painting, coating, and finishing processes, including handling of chemicals, coatings, and operating equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on painting, coating, and metal finishing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
   

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience in a paint-spraying or metal finishing role would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in operating paint spraying equipment, including automated spray systems, hand-held spray guns, and other metal coating application machinery to ensure precise application and high-quality finishes.
  • Ability to thoroughly examine the finished coating on steel products, ensuring it meets both quality standards and specifications.
  • Knowledgeable in safety protocols, including handling of paints, coatings, and chemicals, and adherence to environmental and workplace safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Physically fit with the stamina to work in various conditions, including standing for extended periods and working in different environmental settings, such as hot or dusty environments.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being an effective team player.
