Duties
Job duties include:
- Receiving and unloading hog deliveries.
- Sorting hogs into appropriate receiving pens.
- Ensuring humane and safe handling of hogs in our facility.
- Completing hog receiving documents to CFIA standards.
- Scraping trailers.
- Working outdoors and in a barn environment.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Respect for animal welfare, food safety, and workplace safety. Knowledge of animal behavior is an asset.
- Capable of working in diverse environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and odors
- 1 to 7 months of experience working with livestock.
- Fit and capable of working in a physically demanding role. Capable of bending, lifting, and crawling
- Completion of Secondary school or equivalent experience
- Capable of repetitive manual tasks
- Able to effectively communicate in English
- At least 18 years old to meet the minimum age requirement
