Description
The Janitorial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly facilities by performing general cleaning and janitorial duties in commercial and residential buildings. The successful candidate must be reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
- Dust furniture
- Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
- Distribute clean towels and toiletries
- Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
- Clean and disinfect elevators
- Handle and report lost and found items
- Provide basic information on facilities
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Wash windows, walls and ceilings
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Represent the church in humanitarian endeavours, social services and welfare activities
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying cleaning supplies.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and safe handling of cleaning products is an asset.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to maintain a professional attitude when working at client locations.
