Manitoba Start will collect personal information from you at this time, including your name, address, and phone number, for the purpose of providing employment services and referrals to orientation, English language assessment, and English language instruction.

Manitoba Start is part of a network of service providers offering orientation, English language assessment and instruction, referral and employment services to immigrants. You could be sent to some of the other service providers in the network, such as the Winnipeg English Language Assessment and Referral Centre and Accueil Francophone. If so, those service providers will be able to access your name, address and phone number. They will also be able to access other information you are providing at this time, but only if it is needed to provide their service to you. This will reduce the number of times you are asked for the same basic information.

The collection, use and sharing of your personal information is protected by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act of Canada (PIPEDA), The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), as well as an agreement between the Government of Manitoba (Manitoba Economic Development and Training) and Manitoba Start. As the program funder, Manitoba Economic Development and Training can also access your information if required for program monitoring, evaluation and reporting purposes.

Questions about privacy or access to your personal information can be answered by contacting the Access and Privacy Coordinator, Manitoba Economic Development and Training, 900 – 259 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba R3B 3P4 or 204-945-6734 or EDTAccessRequests@gov.mb.ca.
