- Inspect, diagnose, and carry out adjustments, repairs, or replacements on automotive systems including fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drivetrain components, emission control and exhaust systems, cooling and climate control systems, and electrical and electronic systems, using hand tools and specialized automotive repair equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, fluid top-ups, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
- Conduct thorough multi-point vehicle inspections and document findings accurately on work and repair orders in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Communicate inspection results and completed work to customers in clear, straightforward terms, explaining the condition of their vehicle and advising on any future repair or maintenance requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of service advisors, parts advisors, and fellow technicians to maintain efficient workflow and timely completion of work orders.
- Complete all assigned work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with occupational health and safety standards and dealership policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in automotive service technology, or equivalent trades certification from a recognized authority.
- A valid Red Seal Journeyman’s Certificate (Automotive Service Technician) or equivalent journeyman/trades certification from a recognized authority is required. Candidates who have not yet obtained Red Seal certification will be required to do so upon or prior to commencement of employment, subject to individual credential assessment.
- Level 4 apprentices currently enrolled in a recognized automotive apprenticeship program or equivalent will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 year(s) of hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance, preferably in an automotive dealership or similar large scale automotive service companies.
- A valid driver’s licence equivalent to Manitoba Class 5 (full, non-graduated) is required. Canadian applicants must hold a valid provincial Class 5 licence or equivalent. International applicants holding a valid driver’s licence from their country of origin equivalent to this class may apply; successful candidates will be required to obtain a valid Manitoba Class 5 licence upon taking up residence in Manitoba.
- Proficiency in English is required. Applicants must be able to read and understand technical service manuals and repair orders in English to be able to complete their tasks, communicate findings to customers, and complete required forms and documentation.
- Applicants must be able to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, and diagnostic reports in English to be able to complete duties. Ability to explain vehicle inspection findings and repair recommendations to customers. Ability to complete work order forms, inspection reports, and dealership documentation.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team of 8 technicians, service advisors, and parts personnel in a fast-paced, customer-focused dealership environment.
- Ability to receive and follow direction from a service manager and prioritize tasks accordingly.
