- Complete work for construction, maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of fibre optic cables and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty Broadband electronics, Coaxial and fibre optic cables as needed.
- Complete commercial and residential drops, internal wiring, and pulling fibre/coaxial cables into installed conduit.
- Conduct Optical Time Domain Reflectometer and light testing to support troubleshooting and restoration efforts.
- Perform preliminary site surveys to determine the best service entry location.
- Physically manage conduit and fiber cables within vaults, cabinets, and conduit.
- Follow Health & Safety policies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Grade 12 or equivalent, plus 2 years post secondary education in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field is required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in residential wiring and construction is required.
- Ability to read and understand fibre optic and broadband plant maps, with an understanding of construction wiring practices.
- Comfortable working at heights (ladder work, aerial lift) and working in confined spaces.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Must be able to carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be available for emergency services as needed and willing to complete changes in afterhours change windows.
- Must be able and willing to travel to remote communities with the potential of extended stays away.
- Must be able to complete security clearance and must be bondable.
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Basic First Aid/CPR C Certificate.
