- Prepare soil, plant bulbs, seeds, and cuttings
- Transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings
- Water, fertilize, and care for plants and crops
- Monitor plant health and report signs of insects, disease, or nutritional problems
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers as directed
- Assist in harvesting crops, grading, and packaging plants and produce
- Dig, cut, and transplant trees, shrubs, and flowers
- Clean work areas and maintain tools and equipment
- May operate basic farm or greenhouse machinery and equipment
