Description
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Heavy-Duty Cleaner. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met throughout our medical facility. This includes the proper disposal of medical waste and performing heavy-duty cleaning tasks.
Duties
- Dispose of medical waste in accordance with regulations and guidelines.
- Operate industrial cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
- Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings as needed.
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers regularly.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Assist with moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Fluency in English. Afrikaans is an asset
