Tikaram Adhikari (MNRM, MA, CACE), Manitoba Start Career Coach and Qualifications Recognition Specialist, is one of 25 winners of the 2015 RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant awards, announced June 23, 2015. The RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant recognizes immigrants in Canada who have achieved success and are making a positive difference in Canada.
 
Tika has been recognized for his role in community building in Canada, from his daily work with assisting newcomers in their career planning and integration into the labour market to his role as president of the Nepali Cultural Society of Manitoba. Tika has dedicated many years towards resettling Bhutanese and Nepalese refugees in Canada, as well as creating educational opportunities for vulnerable women and youth in Nepal.
 
“Tika’s personal experience and background in education is a great asset to Manitoba Start Career Services. He does an excellent job of helping professional newcomers identify stepping stones to quality employment outcomes,” said Jonathan Bauer, Career Services Manager at Manitoba Start.
 
“I am delighted to see that Tika’s work in the community to enhance educational and economic opportunities for refugees and immigrants is being nationally recognized and honoured with this award,” said Judith Hayes, Manitoba Start Executive Director. “We are so pleased for him, and we are proud that he is a member of the Manitoba Start team!”
