Tika A.Manitoba Start is delighted to announce that Tikaram Adhikari, Manitoba Start Career Coach and Workshop Facilitator, is a finalist for the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards.

Tikaram Adhikari (MNRM, MA, CACE) is originally from Bhutan and came to Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 2002. He is passionate about assisting newcomers in settling into new homelands and developing cross-cultural understanding, peace, and dialogue.
 
After arriving in Winnipeg, Tika played a key role in the early settlement of Bhutanese refugees in Winnipeg, including serving as a consultant to the provincial government regarding settlement planning. In 2012, Tika was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his contribution to community services in Canada. 
 
Tika continues to promote cross-cultural communication and opportunities for immigrant prosperity as a Career Coach and Workshop Facilitator at Manitoba Start, the leading provider of career development services to newcomers to the Province. In this capacity, Tika is a role model and mentor for newcomers by facilitating their integration into Canadian workplaces and encouraging their positive contributions to Canadian society.

Tika is the outgoing president of the Nepali Cultural Society in Winnipeg and the chairperson of the Punya Foundation. He is also an instructor at the University of Winnipeg and the International College of Manitoba.
